Commissioner Patricia Levesque is the CEO of the Foundation for Excellence in Education (ExcelinEd), a non-profit public policy organization founded by former Florida Governor Jeb Bush to improve the quality of education across the nation. She is also Executive Director of the Foundation for Florida’s Future, an education advocacy organization founded by Governor Jeb Bush dedicated to turning bold, proven education reforms into reality.

Commissioner Levesque serves on the board of the Policy Innovators in Education-Network (PIE-Network) and the Florida Charter School Alliance. She previously served on the Taxation and Budget Reform Commission (2007-2008); the Government Efficiency Task Force (2007-2008); the K-20 Students with Disabilities Education Pathway Task Force (2013); and the Advisory Board of the National Science Foundation-Funded Research and Policy Network (2013). 

Prior to her leadership of the Foundation for Excellence in Education, Commissioner Levesque served as Deputy Chief of Staff for Governor Jeb Bush, where she oversaw state agencies responsible for education, general government services, business and professional regulation, elder affairs, veterans’ affairs, workforce, lottery and juvenile justice. She joined the Governor's staff in 2002 as the education policy coordinator in the Office of Policy and Budget.

From 1997-2002, Commissioner Levesque worked in the Florida House of Representatives in the Speaker's Office, as Staff Director of the Education K-12 Committee and as the Staff Director of the House Council for Lifelong Learning.

Commissioner Levesque was born in Singapore and grew up in Atlanta, GA and Central Florida. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Finance, Bob Jones University, 1991; Master of Business Administration, Crummer Graduate School of Business, Rollins College, 1995. She is married to George T. Levesque, Of Counsel, Gray Robinson and former General Counsel for both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate.  They have two children Luke (9) and Isabella (6) and are members of Thomasville Road Baptist Church.
