ARTICLE II: GENERAL PROVISIONS, New Section.

Catchline: Symbols of the State.

(a) We, the People of the State of Florida, having pride in our State's unique natural and cultural resources and heritage, do enact the following as official symbols for our great State:

1. State Flower. Florida's official flower is the Ghost Orchid (Dendrophylax lindenii).

2. State Tree. Florida's official tree is the Palmetto.

3. State Bird. Florida's official bird is the Roseate Spoonbill.

4. State Mammal. Florida's official mammal is the Florida Panther.

5. State Marine Mammal. Florida's official marine mammal is the Manatee.

6. State Reptile. Florida's official reptile is the Alligator.

7. State Marine Reptile. Florida's official marine reptile is the Loggerhead Sea Turtle.

8. State Insect. Florida's official insect is the Zebra Longwing Butterfly.

9. State Amphibian. Florida's official amphibian is the Frosted Flatwoods Salamander.

10. State Freshwater Fish. Florida's official freshwater fish is the Florida Gar.

11. State Saltwater Fish. Florida's official saltwater fish is the Atlantic Sailfish.

12. State Invertebrate. Florida's official invertebrate is the Liguus Tree Snail.

13. State Crustacean. Florida's official crustacean is the Stone Crab.

14. State Fruit. Florida's official fruit is the Orange (Citrus sinensis), and hybrids thereof.

15. State Vegetable. Florida's official vegetable is the Green Bean.

16. State Berry. Florida's official berry is the Blackberry.

17. State Beverage. Florida's official beverage is the juice from oranges (Citrus sinensis).

18. State Dessert. Florida's official dessert is Key Lime Pie.

19. State Sports. Florida's official team sport is Baseball; and Florida's official individual sport is Snorkeling.

20. State Colors. Florida's official colors are Orange, Green, and White.

21. State Stone. Florida's official stone is Agatized Coral.

22. State Soil. Florida's official soil is Myakka Fine Sand.

23. State Fossil. Florida's official fossil is Shark Teeth.

24. State Gem. Florida's official gems are pearls produced from the Queen Conch.

25. State Shell. Florida's official shell is the Horse Conch.

26. State Artifact. Florida's official artifacts are gold coins from Spanish galleon shipwrecks off of Florida's coasts.

(b) Additional symbols for the State may be designated by the Governor or the Legislature.
