Title: NO PTSD COST ENCUMBRANCES FOR FIRST RESPONDERS

No copay, co-insurance, medical prescriptions, nor out-of-pocket costs of any sort shall be demanded of first responders seeking mental health services due to post traumatic stress disorder[s]. The PTSD may have been inflicted off-duty. Florida first reponders include sworn law enforcement officers, volunteer and professional firefighters, classroom workers, game wardens and rangers, emergency medical personnel, professional and ad litem court guardians, school crossing guards, transit operators, animal control field workers, Florida Air and Army National Guard members, security guards, and corrections officers at all levels, The first three PTSD and/or grief counseling sessions undertaken by a loved one[s] of a deceased court ward must also be attended in person by the ward's surviving professional guardian if requested to do so orally or in written form by the aforementioned family members as an important aspect of the emotional and spiritual healing process. As well, in accordance with established standards regarding fiduciary obligations, the professional guardian enterprises of Florida shall see to it that their ward's wishes are met at the time of the ward's interment regarding proper disposal of the remains of the ward as per prepaid plan and/or articulated preferences. Memorial ceremony[-ies] and/or interment procedures must be paid for properly and promptly from the cash assets or sale proceeds of the ward's, including any materials, secured contractors or volunteers, preferred facilities and equipment, or other aspects of their legacy desired before their decline in competency.
