Title: RETAINING GOOD TEACHERS. AFTER THREE ANNUAL CONTRACTS A TEACHER WILL BE OFFERED A THREE YEAR CONTRACT OR BE DISMISSED.

 

A.  A teacher will have a maximum of three one year contracts in a district. At the end of the third annual contract the teacher will either be released, if not up to standards, or offered a three-year contract. Contracts are valid only for the district in which the contract is signed.

B.  If the teacher moves to a new district after completing three annual contracts or completing a three-year contract, the new district will have the option to start the three annual contract process again or offer the teacher a three contract or any combination of the two.

C.  School districts ought to have the option to provide a four-year contract for those subject areas for which counties have difficulty retaining teachers.  Such as science or ESE.
