ARTICLE II: GENERAL PROVISIONS, Section 9. English is the official language of Florida.
SECTION 9.English is the official language of Florida.
- English is the official language of the State of Florida.
- The legislature shall have the power to enforce this section by appropriate legislation.
- No government information, documents, public signs, or communications shall be provided to the public in any language but English, except as mandated by Federal Law.
- The State of Florida shall provide for funding in order to teach Non-English speakers, who have established The State of Florida as their residence by obtaining proper Florida State Identification which has a legal address, to speak, read, and print English, for no cost or a reduced cost depending on the financial ability of the person. In order to qualify for English language funding, persons must be legally allowed to work in The United States and have no felony criminal charges or convictions for atleast three years or no 1st degree misdemeanor convictions in atleast 3 years.
