PUB 700423: Making Nascar Official Sport of Florida; Providing Measures to Promote NASCAR by Jesse Dyer

ARTICLE X: MISCELLANEOUS, New Section.

Catchline: NASCAR

The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) is the official sport of the State of Florida. It is the policy of this state to foster the growth of the sport by all practicable means. To this end, the State shall build a NASCAR track in every political subdivision with a population in excess of 50,000. Each track may vary in length and shape; however, no track shall be less than one mile and road coarses shall only make up 25% of the total number of tracks. To promote enthusiasm for NASCAR among the citizenry, there shall be no speed limits in the State. Drivers may draft and trade paint so long as such maneuvers are conducted in a reasonably safe manner. The State Legislature shall be empowered to enact legislation to enforce this provision.
