PUB 700424: State Supreme Court Justice Confirmation and Term Limits by Nathan DiPietro
ARTICLE V: JUDICIARY, New Section.
(a) All State Supreme Court Justices that the Governor nominates shall be confirmed by a simple majority of the Florida Senate.
(b) One Supreme Court Justice shall be replaced by the Governor as provided in the Florida Constitution every two years. The Supreme Court Justice to be replaced shall be the one who has served the longest on the Court; or if more than one were nominated at the same time, the Governor shall choose and relpace one of those justices who has served the longest on the Supreme Court.
(c) This section shall not prevent other Justices from being replaced by the Governor and confirmed by the Senate when their positions become vacant.
