ARTICLE VIII: LOCAL GOVERNMENT, New Section.

Catchline: Renaming of the Counties.

(a) No county in the State of Florida shall be named after any person, place, or event in connection with slavery, segregation, or the forced relocation of the Native Americans.

(b) Effective January 1, 2020, the following counties shall be renamed as follows:

(1) Baker County is renamed "Saint Marys County".

(2) Bradford County is renamed "New River County".

(3) Calhoun County is renamed "Apalachicola County".

(4) Dixie County is renamed "Alligator County".

(5) Hendry County is renamed "Cypress County".

(6) Jackson County is renamed "Chipola County".

(7) Lee County is renamed "Caloosahatchee County".

(8) Martin County is renamed "Treasure Coast County".

(9) Miami-Dade County is renamed "Biscayne County".

(10) Pasco County is renamed "Creek County".

(11) Putnam County is renamed "River County".
