Public schools and districts that provide community education programs beyond normal school days and hours correlate to higher community support for public schools. To assure parents, businesses and community organizations support public schools at the highest financial levels, school boards and individual schools shall provide afterhours and weekend programs to satisfy public needs and generate positive support for elementary and secondary education. Each district and school unit must survey yearly the community for needed coursework to enhance skills, knowledge and aesthetics for community residents and enhance community financial support of the public schools.
